About this Course
This online manual handling course covers safe lifting techniques such as the LITE stairway to safety, risks involved with incorrect manual handling, and the regulations that need to be followed by employers and employees.
Over one-third of workplace injuries happen due to incorrect manual handling techniques. If you lift loads incorrectly, you may suffer from musculoskeletal disorders, especially if you do it regularly. This course ensures that your back remains in a good condition while manually handling loads.
This course is suitable for anyone who needs to lift, pull, push or move heavy loads regularly without the support of equipment; and also prepares them for carrying out risk assessments at the job site. It can also be used as part of the on-programme element of the new apprenticeship standards.
Did you know: Every year, 300,000 people in the UK suffer from back pain due to manual handling accidents. Damage to the back, neck, or spine can lead to extreme pain, temporary incapacity, or permanent injury.
